My Grannie

Flowers to Pass Along
9 X 12 on watercolor paper

This is my Grannie and I have played ART with this image before. The old photograph that I used for inspiration is actually of she and a cousin or friend or sis-in-law. I always get mixed up who it is.

Well anyway, I started out to do both of them as I have been inspired to paint two on a piece. Someone else took charge. So, I will try another day to paint the both of them.

I'm wondering how many of her descendants still have flowers that she passed along.

More later,

Sharon

  1. What can I say, Sharon, I just love all of the art that you (and of course-Norah)make. I am tempted to put aside the work I am supposed to do today and try your technique. You inspire me so!

  5. Sharon, this is beautiful! I love the softness of the background and the way that you embedded the text around the piece. I also love the image painted at an angle. It seems to bring more life to the character.

  10. A lovely piece, perhaps your Grannie wanted to spotlight to herself. She seem's very *present* in this work.

Is your style changing? Or is it my faulty observation? I think your recent portraits have more dimension or detail or... something.
