ANNOUNCEMENT

All Norah'S Art, my Ning classroom network will be closing July 31, 2015.

Before that happens, I want to offer all of my current online classes at a huge discount starting now!

All classes are discounted at least 50 percent. You can access class information by clicking on the page buttons above or by visiting my classroom network: All Norah'S Art.

*************************************

I have made a huge decision about my Ning classroom network.
You may or may not know that Ning has and is changing their ways.
I have had plenty notice of this and plenty of time to consider what I wanted to do.

However, the decision has been very hard to make.
Big decisions are always hard for me and I typically swing back and forth from to-do or not-to-do.

Even though I have had many great ideas for new workshop offerings, I just haven't had the energy or I should say passion to go forth with them.

I have finally realized that this decision hanging over my head is stifling my energy.

So, once and for all, I made the decision to give up my Ning network at my annual renewal day of July 31, 2015.

I decided to go out with a bang!
A bang of offering all the classes for the next several months for a huge discount.

You will find all of the class descriptions and paypal buttons on the Main page of All Norah'S Art, as well as, here on my blog pages.
You can click on the class buttons in the top page heading or by clicking on the picture icon of each class in the right sidebar.

Audio about Signatures

While changing all the paypal buttons and making sure the classrooms were in order, I came across a bit of audio that I added at the end of one of my favorite classes, Faces In Collage.
I'm sharing this snip of audio today with you because it is something that I feel really strong about.
(hopefully, the audio embed works)
If you are reading in a reader, you may need to click over to the blog to see and play the audio.

Oh how I adore Madge Gill!
I knew when England came up in the Postcard Challenge, I would be trying one of hers.
I have been inspired by her work before
This time, I felt challenged to actually go with pen and ink.
Must tell you how relaxing this was.
You should try it.

Here is a little secret.
The last seven pages in my Postcard Challenge are included in my new class,
A Diary of Faces.
Don't miss it.

New Toy

My friend put me onto this new toy. I think we are having a race to see who can walk the most steps per day. You can find it at Walgreen's. In our town there is a $5.00 off coupon this week.

Just in case you can't see. I have 1354 steps for today as of l:50 PM. On top of that, it saves 7 days in its memory. And on top of that, it is a clock I can wear on my belt, if I had a belt.
I don't own a watch and never know what time it is.
But I will tell you one thing, today was the start of my online workshop and we are having one fun TIME....Playing ART Together.
Join me,
Sharon

Take a breath

Yes yes yes, I can take a big breath.
I haven't finished 2009.
Nor have I greeted 2010.
Sometimes stuff like that just passes you by.
It did me.
I'm taking a deep breath this afternoon because I finished a huge commitment
and I managed the deadline.
That little sneak peak above is what I have been up to lately and therefore unaccounted for here. Pam Carriker invited me to contribute to her book, and today I managed to get my box to the post office before the window closed at 4:30.
I could moan and moan about how I took on too much but I won't.
For now you will find me around the corner learning a whole bunch of new techie stuff. That is because every time I get around another corner, there is yet another learning curve.
The workshop is coming along nicely except my brain has had just too much to deal with....oh, forgot, I wasn't going to moan.
I am so excited about your response and am working hard to get it ready. I don't want to announce a date until I know I can meet it. I don't want to break my own deadline.
But for those who are wondering and asking about the cost, I'm thinking I will hold it to sixty-five-ish dollars. Believe me it is a hundred dollar workshop but I know times are tough. There will be at least 4 different lessons within the class plus one bonus lesson and we will use many different paints. So don't worry about the supplies just yet.
One of my goals for this first class is to inspire you to try paints that you might already have like Folk Art. But I will also show other paints.
To those who shared the workshop news on their blogs, I thank you so much for warming my heart. Your the best.
To all who leave me comments even when I don't get back to you very quickly, I love you too.
I'm afraid this is getting long; I'm feeling rather talkative.
Oh dear but the kitchen is calling me now.

Workshop preview

It's driving me bonkers that I don't really have time to blog today. Who knew the last two days of the year would be crazy busy here at this real work desk. Two days that I'm "holding the fort down" alone as HE is off hunting with son and grands.

I want to quickly share a little bit about my on-line workshop that I have been working on.

Just to answer a few questions that you have ask.

First of all, yes it is on-line workshop and I will be using the Ning.com network. If you have created a profile at Ning, you have finished the first step. More about that later.

You ask if you will be able to view the videos on dial up connection and I don't really know but I'm thinking not. If you are able to watch YouTube videos like the one in the last post, then yes. I do notice that most workshops presenters do say high speed is required.

I'm sorry, I haven't yet committed to an exact day to open registration but it will be soon. Like within two weeks. I hope.

This little canvas shown is one of the projects in the workshop and it is a start to finish in real time with many segments and lots of information. I'm almost done with editing.

This workshop is about Norah'S Faces.
She and I paint in many mediums and will share several face painting techniques.
It is not about painting backgrounds; although, we will create one.
It is not about gel transfers; although we will create one.
It is not about sketching faces; although we will draw an egg with eyes, nose, and mouth.
It is not about napkins; although there is a fabulous bonus video about layering napkins.
In addition to the above face, I have already videoed four others to include in this workshop.
For now, that's all I can tell you as I'm rushed for time.
Looking forward,
Sharon
PS Just a favor to ask. Please share the word about the workshop because it will be lots of fun.
