Days of Christmas

On The Fourth Day of Christmas
I give to you....

My favorite way to stick skeleton leaves down.

Have you ever used Sticky Dots Adhesive?

Well it is really sticky.

I have used gel medium for the leaves.

However, it seems that sometime I lose the fragility of the leaf.

Also, the gold seems to dull.
With sticky dots this doesn't happen.

Gently lay the leaf on the sticky dot paper.

Lift it and place on your page.
My Good Fortune Journal
The floral tree branch on the right side is a napkin glued down with gel medium.

Napkins are usually 3 layers thick and for transparency, I use only the top layer.

The tree on the left side was the illustration in the original book.

If you look closely you will see a faint image of the floral napkin.

This was the the second layer of the napkin where the ink went through.

Following Norah'S instructions, I glued it down.

More later,

Sharon

  3. Are you kidding me? This is getting downright spooky how our minds are running together. We're both doing 12 Days gifts and today on my Art Pub Studios blog I did how to use the top layer of a napkin. I can hardly wait 'til tomorrow 'cuz at this point I don't know what OUR next gift will be!?!
I'm with Janet, I'm loving the tips you're giving. I'll be back! Hugs.

  4. Oh Sallyt, what fun we are having. I had this one in the que(sp) 2 days ago. But I'm not ready for tomorrow. Not sure yet what my gift will be. Right now, I'm looking for my big work table. I know it's here somewhere under all this good stuff.

  7. I don't know how I found your blog, but I LOVE your artwork. I spent about an hour admiring your blog pictures and I really enjoyed the "Looks over my shoulder" features. Thanks for the tips, I recently attached some skeleton leaves with xyron sticker maker and then added contrasting glitter which took away the stickiness on the blank parts of the leaf.
Will try your way next time. Thanks for the tip.
