Finally, I got back to it today and finished. I sort of wish I had painted the face a bit higher/bigger like the sketch. But I didn't and I'm OK with it.
And now for those who were inspired. Julia did a quick mind's eye sketch. Go see. And I may have already sent you to Linda's painting but now you can see how ours differ using the same sketch. I think it is great. Angie in Az was inspired by watching my face painting videos and this painting and she has an "in progress". I am thrilled when I have inspired anyone to make ART. And one more thing, thank you Marelle for the blog award. That thrills me too.
I didn't finish this project and I'm about pooped for today, so I will leave this on the table for you to
Expect,
Sharon

ReplyDeleteloving these little houses in the background sharon xx
ReplyDeleteLOVE the red.. and funny that it's the next color that will be hitting my canvas in progress! And I love all your pieces lined up on your table. The wonky houses are so great! And sooo much better than straight line, perfectly shaped little box houses!
ReplyDeleteStill on my to-do list. I am loving your whack-a-do windows. I must make some like that on my next city scape....and maybe some of those fun party hat roofs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration.
Nice work Sharon. Liking your world!

WOW! It took my breath away! REALLY FANTASTIC! Hope you and yours are doing well and off to a great summer season!
ReplyDeleteI find it facinating how one thing one does catches with the artist and one wants to do more of that.
ReplyDeleteit can build to such recognition.
I also am attracted to red, however I paint blue and green a lot as it feels so good to me.
I was amused to see you wear red glasses as last time I got glasses, before I met your blog and you I got red frames.
So exciting to see your last few days of work and prhaps more than a few days as you have been busy and maybe a bit tired.
This is so silly but I got to use that fly swatter with the nice patterns as a stencil. So then the book my woman is holding said something in Latin I didn't understand, so I changed the words
to "Why Cats Sip Wine" so have to find a cat and wine glass for the painting.
YOur work Fun and Lovely, you give a lot to us all.
Up North Emelie
Well, naturally, as someone with a blog called birdnestontheground - I would love the tree branch with the nest....those tiny little houses hanging off branches....well, all of this painting!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, all that red! LOVE IT!!! And, the table with paintings laid out down it's length...what a turn-on!!!! You go, girl!!!! Pat
Every time I come here for a visit I find something new and enchanting. I know I have told you many times "This one is my favorite"
ReplyDeleteWell :) you just keep making new favorites for me.
You are inspiring...you inspired me to put my face painting on canvas...soon I will show a piece that was inspired by you and a couple of favorite quilters...a little tease...to keep me working.
Your new series is just fantastic! And that last photo is amazing. Do you always create in multiples?
ReplyDeleteThey are all so good! I love how things developed from your rough sketch. I may have to try this. Sometimes I find it so helpful to try out ideas from other people. It seems to kick start me when I'm feeling blocked!
ReplyDeleteI do love your work and watching the process.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing,
It is such an inspiration.

I just love your work! Very inspiring!!

Your funky chateaus are to die for, and I adore that red background. (I can not believe how prolific you are, btw). The photo of the WIP have piqued my curiosity, especially the first canvas in the row, the yellow and pink one, of course!
ReplyDeleteOh Wow, thanks Sharon, for mentioning me and linking me on your post!...I love how your sketch turned out, the reds are so rich and the little houses and branchs, really I love your style...
ReplyDeleteAnd the prolofic art you are creating...I wish I felt better as there is so much I could be doing with my art right now, your exercise in sketching has freed me of the block I have lately, but now my physical body just won't let me get on with it...xx
I am so bad, I am trying to catch up...I love all the new art, and the kids looked like they were having fun with it too.
ReplyDeleteHappy June, Mary
There is so much detail in the picture, it is hard to believe it is only 10x10! Love that brilliant red, most of all!
