Dirty Trick

I'm sorry.  That was a dirty trick sharing "with purpose" the dark beginning of  In My Pansy Garden.  In my mind, the darkness was  a metaphor for me being so deep inside myself.  Just as the painting is now a metaphor for me  finding my way out.   I will leave it at that as I have often expressed, I'm frequently at a loss for words after painting.

  4. Norah, your work is always beautiful. I think many of us artists go to dark places for inspiration... but we are blessed to know the light to.

  7. Your colors are very jewel like. There is a beautiful warmth to your artwork. It does seem as if you're emerging from the darkness. But the character also looks very wise because of it.

  8. This is so Pansy Garden just the colors say it, I had to get out an old vintage post card of pansies and incorperate it with my photo at age one.

She is so lovely with the oriole, who says we can't do orange in the spring, maybe it is tangerine in the spring and orange in the fall.
The composition is daring also I think, both the position of things and the perception.

I hope your week is bright without darkness.

  13. This is beautiful, Sharon! The woman's sleeves look feather-like to me, like she's becoming a bird, but maybe that's because I watched Black Swan last night.
