The Gathering is finished

The Gathering
24 x 24 gallery wrapped canvas
Auditioning butterflies

The Gathering
There is so much that I want to share about this painting. You know, mostly my thoughts while painting. The thing is, at this finishing stage, I find myself without words. And I think you probably aren't interested anyway.
Maybe another day.
I hope you enjoyed the series of the last 4 post leading up to this one.

  9. Just went back and looked at the other posts and wanted to return to thank you for sharing your process. I didn't know you could transfer images with paper, printer ink and gel medium onto a canvas. I think you may have just opened up a whole new world for me. Wow Sharon, thank you!!!! How much do I owe you for that? :)

  11. The bold and the soft, the expression of a time long gone, makes me think of how they are now looking at this. It is beautiful and full of feelings that sometimes are not said.

  15. Wonderful. I think the butterfly ended up in the perfect spot. I'm always interested in your process and in the thoughts that go with it. It would be easy to imagine you just sort of got lost in time while working on this piece.

  18. You must be happy with this, right? Somehow my eyes keep going in and out of the painting... probably because of the softness of some parts and stronger tones in other. Very interesting! Loved seeing how you auditioned the butterfly, and placement for it. That was fun :-)
