I need to tell you about it now so you can be thinking about it. It's all about resolutions and annual words and declarations. Maybe a promise to oneself. Let's call it a pledge. Determination.
With much anticipation, I usually spend the last 6 weeks or so of each year thinking about the next year. Always have. It is something about getting on with the new and over with the old.
I'm not one to "resolve" on the first day of the new year. However, this year I realized that I do resolve something during the last week of each year. You know something that I must do before January One rolls over on the calendar again.
This year after Christmas, I walked into my bathroom and right then and there I resolved that before fireworks and the ball in Time Square hit the ground, I would clean that nasty bathroom like it had never been cleaned before.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't jump right in and get it done that day. I gave it much thought before actually doing it. But I can report that I did in fact start the new year with a clean and shining bathroom.
