A Present
*
Yep, my mail lady dropped this off to my surprise. A little packet of vintage wallpaper form Mizz One Crabapple over at Art Tea Life.
Check her out, she does the neatest thing with the littlest piece of paper. You don't have to have great big pieces to make beautiful art.
*
I held onto my little packet until I could scan it because you know I just have to show all. And now I will be gluing some down for sure.
*
Here's the good news. I don't know if she still has any, but she did have in her Etsy. So check it out if you like vintage wallpaper...and we all do.
*
Thank you Mizz One Crabapple Art Tea Life, I love it.
More later,
really,
Sharon

Killing Two Birds with one.....
I'm not talking about killing my birds or chicken or guineas.
I'm talking about:
BIRD NUMBER ONE: My Deck of Me mini art journal. Well I can't really call it a journal yet seeing as how I have only made this one card. I believe it was for week 18 and the prompt was "nature". You know I love my chickens and guineas. They give us scrumptious little presents that we enjoy for breakfast. But they all also leave presents that are little puffs of themselves. I find them just floating around in the yard. I claim them as God's art and I use them in mine.
BIRD NUMBER TWO: I was over at MichelleWard's and reading about her Green Pepper Press Street Team Crusade No 8 is Cheap Tricks. Yes I'm cheap and so that definitely grabbed me. I checked it out and found that everyone was invited to share their "clever inexpensive favorite thing to use when making art."

My Misty Mawn Workshop
Did you know, she will come to your studio and teach? It's like an Art House Call. I found her to be just the sweetest most caring and sharing person.
She will come to your studio too.
Just do what I did.
I purchased the latest issue of Somerset Studio a couple of weeks ago. It is full of inspiration, direction and instruction from many artist. I devoured it and being a huge fan of Misty Mawn, I was elated to read her directions of two of the pieces in this issue.
Me being Norah's pal took Misty's challenge.
The first one is "Sweet Fern" and will go into my True Colors Journal as one of the "green" pages. Although , I think it would fit the "blue and ochre" page as well. To me, it is her name that relegates her to green. Don't you think?
I enjoyed the workshop immensely. I tried to work fast as Misty says she does and painted both of these yesterday. I'm still not too good with transparency transfers but I did try. I didn't have the egg stamp from Michelle Ward's collection that was featured in this issue. But you know I had carved a stamp the day before of Ashley so I quickly carved an egg stamp for the challenge.
I call this second one, "Willing Heart" and it will go into my True Color Journal as my aqua page.
The bluebird eggs are truly the most beautiful aqua turquoise and both pieces feature a transparency transfer of my bluebird nest box.
Speaking of my True Colors Journal, I have added the artist links back to my side bar (they were there before I changed to the new and improved blogger). Also added links to my other pages.
Well, I guess I don't have to tell you what a great holiday I'm having....It's an ART party weekend!

Here it is...
Here is the clue........Me
I really really did intend to play with Emily Falconbridge. At the beginning of the year she started a play-along mini art journal challenge.

Check Off....
I made a rubber stamp of Ashley. I'm not sure why or what I am going to do with it but I think it might have been norah'S idea in the first place so I just had to do it.
I think it is pretty cool. I have played with this picture before and have shown you but this time I'm showing the original picture below.
Here is a tag I made last summer for my HeART Journal. Here I printed the the image that I monkeyed with onto scrapbook paper. Like that too.
****
So I don't mean to interrupt the guessing game below. I have finished the project but will wait to show you tomorrow.

If you don't want to guess...that's OK...just leave me a comment anyway and I will have a little drawing. How about that?

Playing Around Tonight
Instead of working on this in-progress-project, I'm just playing around on this Friday night.
***
I know you haven't been around to watch but I have changed my header several times. Now that I have discovered how easy it is, I'll be doing that some more. I have been rather too lazy to even give it a try. But you know what I say, "nothing ever happens before it's time".
Must be time, I know not why yet.
***
About the project. What do you think it is...or rather will be? If you guess before I show you later this weekend, there just might be a little prize for you. You can guess in my comments. Oh, you knew that.
***
The weekend is looking good. You know how excited I get about 3 days...off...in a row... mercy, how I do love that. It is going to be too wet to go around and around on my think tank. Oh darn!
Well, I guess playing around is better than snoozing on the couch. But I think I will go do that.

Sunday Company
Remember when Susan and I went on a treasure hunt? Well, she is so keen on spotting treasures. That is, she has so much more experience that I.
She found this little black purse for 50 cents and ask didn't I think I could paint something on it.
Sure for 50 cents I'll try.
Today was the day. I painted this sweet lady dreaming.
And on the back is a little collage using my bluebird nest.
I can't seem to get through with these colors. I really do like them and I do believe Norah's had them on her mind as well.
Have a nice day,

Sharon

The Graduate
Here she is. Every bit of her from tip to toe. She is so pretty and we are so proud of her.
Just attended her Baccalaureate Mass and tomorrow she will graduate from high school.
I really can't believe it. It just seems like yesterday that I sucked myself up against the wall like plaster just hoping the doctor wouldn't notice that I was in the birthing room. He did and said, "come over here granny, you have to see this". I stood right behind him and watched in sheer speechless amazement.
I'll be going to bed now...

Multitasking
Sometimes it's because I just can't focus....I seem to remember I was going to do that this year.
The other day when I was loading all the pictures of the last art journal, I looked over at this, this, this, gosh awful site. So as I was multitasking, I picked up the camera and took the shot. Not too good because I was shooting right into the bright sun. But good enough to show you the mess. See some of my treasure hunt things. Wallpaper. Books. Dustpan....no. Just stacks of stuff. It's just all hanging out.

Hello

So here she is ready to go.

Also, a few favorite pages. The whole book is at my Flicker spot as a set.
You can view it there and when I get real smart and have more time I am going to add my sets to my sidebar here.

Stormy Weather.....
This is inside the front cover and I have used some of my new wallpaper that I got when treasure hunting a couple of weekends ago. This is another altered book art journal that I am starting with a little of my own inspiration and then the person that wins the bid on it will make it theirs by adding their pictures, words and ephemera.
I was ask to give the journal a Mother Daughter theme and it will be auctioned at a Mother-Daughter Tea so I have added a little tea theme as well.
Coffee and Tea is a nursery rhyme and I was inspired to make a page with it.
I haven't photographed all of the book yet and just as soon as I do, you know I will show you. I'm working on the cover and the event is this weekend. So.............
