I have a new napkin. It's right there to the left.
Here is my list for the weekend:
I'm not going to vacuum!
I'm not going to run the dishwasher!
And if I don't run it, I won't unload it!
I'm not going to wash sheets!
or anything else!
I'm not going to sweep the garage!
I'm not going to mow the yard!
I'm not going to repot the mother-in-law's tongue.
(the mother-in-law is doing well)
I'm not going to organize my studio stuff.
I am going to paint.
I am going to paint a lady on this canvas.
It won't be the one that I already painted and then painted over.
I am going to rest and take meds to get over this crud that has overtaken my body.
And now.....
I am going to share my excitement with you about the upcoming Somerset Studio Gallery Summer 2009 issue.
I just love love love when they use my art for a little sneaky peaky look at the soon-to-be-out issues. It is very exciting to click over there and have a few "sisters" looking back at me. I don't think it shows my name but you'll know they are my "sisters" who went out into the world last year. And don't miss the fact that you can advance order a copy and get free shipping. That's exactly what I did.
Expect a great weekend.
Sharon
Sharon, Love the use of the spiral on this piece and can't wait to see the lady in all her glory when this is finished.....love the napkin. Maybe I'll take a page out of your book and not do any of the stuff on my list this weekend...sounds like a good plan. Hope you feel better and enjoy your weekend!!!! Pat
ReplyDeleteOoooh what a gorgeous napkin. I love the idea of no house chores this weekend but have had my play time earlier in the week. Maybe I will sneak in a little fabric page painting nevertheless. Hope you are better soon.
ReplyDeleteI saw those sisters! Congrats!! Hope you feel better, I like your list, dang, I already mowed the yard...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful napkin. I love the piece you are showing, especially the spiral, which I plan on using spirals since you showed us how on your video. The all rest, paint only weekend sounds like a dream. Enjoy- we are waiting to see your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteNow, Sharon, that sounds like a plan!! The dustbunnies won't go into hibernation while they wait. I look forward to seeing your latest creation! Love the napkin too! You are sooo inspiring! Hope that you feel better after your restful weekend.
ReplyDeleteSharon, so good to hear what you have been doing, such lovely with the suggestions of art forms in your new napkin painting. I love to see what is not seen clearly, I know at times and many times when I do flowers the main ones are not my favorite it is the ones I find on the edges. So seeing the sprial gave me a thrill. I always go look at the sisters, even when I don't stop to post I look at them. I do feel they are out there doing things all women do, I even see them with heads tipped just so. I will be happy to see them in the new mag. issue.
ReplyDeleteHave painted a lot this week, someone dropped off a cat, even threw out the cat toys in the ditch. So the cat is in my studio and being very good and I paint and watch to see if this is going to be my cat. He thinks I am his person. We have already been to the vet and will go again to get the adjustments needed.
I have enjoyed putting fabric behind some of my paintings using the scanner, changing the tints, and softening the edges, it can become seamless in appearance so it looks like some of the flowers in the fabric go right into the painting.
I have a plan to paint also, but I have other things to do as well.
Get well, and have a painterly weekend. Emelie
Feel better, Sharon...and PAINT! Congratulations on your new magazine coming out!

I love your posts Sharon and I'm with you on all the NO's...but my problem is I tend to overdo those, so my house suffers greatly. Plus, did I mention I have six dogs???
