Not Dreaming

It wasn't a dream. Last week I had a dream that I arrived at the Paper Cowgirl Retreat in Waxahachie, TX in plenty of time to teach my "Face on a Box" class.

In my dream I dilly-dallied around for about 2 or 3 hours and when it was time to teach, discovered that I forgot the class packets and all the other necessary this & thats. Thank goodness I woke up from that nightmare. So, just before leaving yesterday, I snapped this proof.

Oh my goodness, can I say there was one fun group of ladies gathered to enjoy three hours of Norah'S shenanigans along with a little bit of my instruction. And she certainly did make her presence known. She got out of hand only once......I'll just tell you that she is quick to stop the "doubting Debbies" that sometimes tag along with students.

Our project was on a 3 inch paper mache box. Unfortunately we did not have time to totally finish the box and were a little rushed at the end. But.......

have you ever seen such art and soul in a bunch of faces. I cannot tell you how ecstatic I am about the results of sharing a few techniques with a few fun ladies. It's amazing how every single face is beautiful, stunning, soulful and has a story to tell. They say things like shy, confident, demure, fearful, pretty, fun, crazy, and more and more. I'm just tickled to see them in a group like this. It's just dreamy.

This wasn't a dream. I swear it wasn't. Very very recently, my freind Rella aka Faerieluna had a drawing on her blog for a beautiful piece of her original art. Well, I did not win. But......

here is Sherri, who works at the shop that hosted the retreat, and who also was singed up for my class, and who won the Faerieluna original.

OK, I'm gonna wake up now because I think I have been dreaming again.

I hope you have been having a great weekend. I plan to nap off and on for the rest of the day. And maybe have a few little dreams about that fun group of ladies and their faces.
Enough for now,
Sharon

  8. The class must have been amazing. Each one of those boxes/faces has its own style yet they are all of a theme and work so well photographed together.
