  3. I love that your showing us this beautiful gal in progress Sharon. I think this is looking to be one of your finest pieces!

Change CAN be easy... once you get past that initial gulp of fear/anxiety/anger that grips you that you've GOT to change something you thought you had just right. Then you just put your head down and go for the change with the same conviction you handled the initial "just right" part... and get it really right!

  5. i have absolutely no doubt this will be amazingly beautiful when finished.

every time i have to fix something i figure it gives the finished piece more texture...

    love the size of this

  9. Wow, nice catch on the hair! The 3rd pic does look much better; wasn't liking the high hair line either. Thanks for showing mistakes and telling why you didn't like it! Think Norah is messing with you until you do what she wants!

  12. You are inspiring me to create a work in progress to show my elementary students once we are back in school. They think I just whip out a "masterpiece" in one fell swoop. Ha, Ha...I wish. I tell them that everyone makes mistakes, it's an opportunity to see what you can do with it then. Thanks for sharing.

  13. I second the other comments, love to see the mistakes/changes. The "then there is this" could stand on its own as an abstract.

  16. You know Sharon, I actually have a friend with a hairline just like that, for real! I think she is gorgeous, so not a big mistake. Easily fixed however, funny but I find it so easy to pick out mistakes on others work and so hard to find in my own. I know there is something wrong but can't see it. I think that we get attached to our work maybe and it is difficult to pull it apart, I don't know! Crazy. Maybe that is why when you walk away from something for a month it doesn't feel like yours anymore and you can see it more clearly. Do you find you have the same trouble with that????

  17. I loved the big hair, lol. What color is that turquoise/blue in the upper right area? I love that color and am beginning to think the only way I will ever see it is to buy artist quality paints... :(

  18. I have been here quite a long time I went back to older posts. back to the garden girl. A good thing to go back and see things that I missed or didn't pay enough attention to . Then if one goes way back there is so much to see and to learn amazing work in all the posts passed.

I remember what I was going to say, it was a dream, you were at our local gallery. You were teaching painting the clothed body and you said "This is more Than Just Another Pretty Face". I thought if it again when we were at the gallery last evening.

The reason I wanted to see your garden girl was I am working on something titled just in from the Garden.

It is a cooker outside today and we had much rain yesterday so it is a steamer.

  19. You are amazing Sharon! You continue to share and inspire. I love your process and thoughtful patience you put into your art. I look at all the detail you put into your paintings and it reminds me to slow down in my own art. Thanks for being a fabulous teacher.
