COLORS a poem

by Earle Liederman

Sweet spot with dried flowers pressed and forgotten. Now preserved and gilded.

Thank you Kathy for gifting me with the vintage plastic doilies. You see, I used them immediately. What fun!!

Having a great holiday.
Enough now,

Sharon

EDIT....................here is the book the poem came from

  1. You are my art guru!!! I cannot believe you are a poet too. This book is incredibly lovely. I wish Icould write, but Ava is a beautiful writer, and that's just as good!

I would have also mentioned, in my post, that one of Mr. Al's tennis shoes was laced with chicken wire on that fateful night, but I thought no one would believe me...

  14. The colors, the poem, the book. Magnificant.

What did you use for the actual base page? I like to use children't board books but your pages look thinner than that.

  15. Sharon, I was introduced to your lovely blog by our friend, Pat, at Bird Nest on the Ground, and have loved looking in. This post, though, has finally moved me to write. The poem and your work are just incredibly beautiful. Color is such an integral part of my psyche, as it is to all of us who strive to create art, and the poem you chose speaks so eloquently to that. Your book is the perfect medium to present the poem. Thank you!

  20. Wow!! This is just.... stunning. I've just found your blog, and I'm loving everything. This book especially though, is SO beautiful! I'm with dragonlady - I'd love to hear how you used the doilies to get the textures. I've never seen plastic doilies like that before, I will have to keep my eye out for them.
