3 3/8" square board book
The overall theme for this challenge co-hosted by ArtsyMama and Bonnie is Cabinet of Curiosities. You can check out what that means over at their site. The first day challenge theme is 'Explore'. My book will be about my Art Curiosities. So, today I used acrylic paint and painted some book pages to print some of my images on. The girl image was on a large print page and the wing was on a small print page. I was curious about how that would work and I really like to results. The photo doesn't show the small print very well. I was also exploring altered board books for the first time and the muse took over and here I am in the challenge and I haven't even told ArtsyMama that I want to play ART with her again. So now I'm gonna go do that.
More later,
Sharon
This is a lovely idea! I have so many of these I kept as my two children (5 and 3) have outgrown them but don't want to chuck them, this is something I want to try! PLEASE can I ask you a BIG favour- I am new to ALTERED art, I do collage, art journaling and painting but start off always on blank white paper. I would love to try one of these little books and would like for you to please either post on your blog or email me please a "how to prep" article-for instance-what paint do you use? How long does it take to dry? Any special finished you need to add? A lot of people doing this cabinet of natural curiosity challenge with Kari and I have not done altered art before, so it would really be helpful to a lot of people looking to EXPLORE their different creative sides. I would so appreciate it. I can't wait to see what the rest of the book looks like and love your take on my first challenge. Will see you on Sunday!
