I am so excited!! I can show now!! I have so much to show so I will start with this one. I believe I told you I was prepping a book to make an art journal with that I will be donating to our Library. I believe I also said something about norah'S presence with me Saturday. She had me hopping from thing to thing. Her brain does that sometimes.
Well anyway the point to this picture is to show how I sandwiched back into the book some pages that I had removed. I did three or four of these and one flaps up at the top and the others flap open at the side. Norah'S help was invaluable as I always want to do this but don't remember.
Very briefly, because a new commenter person ask for a little more information on how I prepare a book. Everybody does it a little different but I usually remove two pages between every two that I glue together. Don't remove all the way to the spine. Leave a little and glue it down. I use glue sticks or Mod Podge (for paper) to glue the pages together.
Now here is very valuable information.....The only place I use Mod Podge in an altered book is to glue pages together. I have learned the hard way. Do not use it on the page. I have learned this lesson over and over and over again. Take my word for it.
More later,
Sharon
Oh dear, what is that thing about doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome......thank goodness for norah'S help....she is my muse you know.
I can just about guess the reason for not using Modge Podge on the pages...Thanks for the info about leaving the edge to glue on! I didn't know that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I've not gotten brave enough to try an altered book. I make the same mistake with mod podge. Used it this weekend on a mini album with file paper weight papers - BIG mistake. Luckily I realized it before I had done all the pages. (hits forehead with heel of hand)
